How the Dropbox connection works.
Nothing comes into X1 until you pick it, and nothing is filed under your household until you confirm it.

Connect Dropbox
Dropbox asks you to approve X1 Wealth. X1 asks for permission to see your file names and read your files. It can't change anything in your Dropbox.

Choose files or a folder
In your Vault, open Dropbox and copy a few files once, or open a folder and choose Keep this folder synced. X1 copies only what you pick.

Confirm what X1 found
X1 names each document, pulls out key facts for you to check, and suggests the business, trust, or property it belongs to. You confirm it or mark it Not mine.

Keep it current
X1 checks a synced folder every 15 minutes. A changed file comes in as a new version, and deleting it from Dropbox never deletes the copy in your Vault.

Questions about Dropbox and X1.
- Can X1 change or delete my Dropbox files?
- No. X1 asks Dropbox only for permission to see your file names and read your files. It can't edit, move, upload, or delete anything, and your files stay where they are.
- What does X1 do with a document from Dropbox?
- X1 identifies what kind of document it is and pulls out facts such as names, dates, and amounts for you to review. It also suggests which business, trust, property, or account the document belongs to. Nothing is filed under your household until you confirm it.
- Do I need a membership?
- Yes. Importing from Dropbox is part of X1 membership. With a free account you can add one document from your computer and see what X1 finds in it.
- Which files can X1 read?
- PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, JPG, and PNG files, up to 50 MB each.
- What happens when a file in Dropbox changes?
- If the file is in a folder you keep synced, X1 brings in the new version on its next check, every 15 minutes. A file you copied once stays as it was when you copied it. You can keep up to 10 folders synced.
- What happens when I disconnect Dropbox?
- X1 deletes the Dropbox credentials it stored and stops syncing your folders, so it can no longer reach your Dropbox. Documents already in your Vault stay there until you delete them. You can also remove X1 Wealth from the apps connected to your Dropbox account.
